Known Differences Between IID and IIIDaaS During Import

Known Differences Between IID and IIIDaaS During Import

  • Instant ID supports three card dimensions, namely ISO-ID-1, CR50 and Custom, where the user can define the width and height of the card. Instant ID as a service supports only ISO-ID-1.
    • Behavior during import: A message is displayed after import informing the user of the above, and the card dimensions are set to ISO-ID-1.
    • Action needed from user: Move any fields overflowing from the card to an appropriate position before saving the design.
  • The Chip, Line, and Ellipse fields are not supported in Instant ID as a service.
    • Behavior during import: These fields are not imported, and a message is displayed after import.
  • The font style "Oblique" is not supported in Instant ID as a service. The Text, Static Text, Date, and Barcode fields are impacted.
    • Behavior during import: The font style is set to "Italic" when the imported field has the font style "Oblique."
  • The Font weight "Bolder" is not supported in Instant ID as a service. The Text, Static Text, Date, and Barcode fields are impacted.
    • Behavior during import: The font weight is set to "Bold" when the imported field has font weight "Bolder."
  • Instant ID uses Microsoft fonts, while Instant ID as a service uses Google fonts.
    • Behavior during import: There is a pre-defined mapping for fonts. If the mapping contains the Instant ID font family, the corresponding Instant ID as a service font is set for the imported field. If there is no mapping found, the font family is set to Open Sans. Refer to Font Family Mapping During Import for details.
  • The "Print over the edge" feature is explicitly available in Instant ID but not in Instant ID as a service.
    • Behavior during import: In Instant ID as a service, "Print over the edge" is a default behavior. Any selection made in the imported design is disregarded, as this setting is always treated as enabled and cannot be modified or set to false in Instant ID as a service.
  • Magnetic stripe fields are not supported with the Essential bundle.
    • Behavior during import: If a design with a magnetic stripe is imported in a tenant with the Essential bundle, the magnetic stripe field is not supported.
  • Instant ID supports NTT track type while Instant ID as a service does not.
    • Behavior during import: An appropriate message displays, and the Track type is defaulted to IAT.
  • Some magnetic stripe coercivity values available in Instant ID are not supported in Instant ID as a service.
    • Behavior during import: An appropriate message showing the unsupported value displays. The coercivity value is set to the Instant ID as a service default.
  • Some barcode checksum values available in Instant ID are not supported in Instant ID as a service.
    • Behavior during import: An appropriate message showing the unsupported value displays. The checksum value is set to the Instant ID as a service default.
  • Instant ID supports multiple magnetic stripe fields on each side of card while Instant ID as a service supports only one magnetic stripe field on each side.
    • Behavior during import: An appropriate error message displays and only the first magnetic stripe encountered on each side during import is included.
  • Round borders for Photograph fields are supported in Instant ID but not in Instant ID as a service.
    • Behavior during import: An appropriate message dsiplays, and the round borders are removed.
  • Instant ID supports removing a color from a Static Graphic image using the Transparent Image option while Instant ID as a service does not.
    • Behavior during import: An appropriate message displays, and the image is shown without removing any color.
  • The sizing options "Completely fill" and "Original graphic size" for Static Graphic images are available in Instant ID but not in Instant ID as a service.
    • Behavior during import: An appropriate message dsiplays, and image is shown as large as possible without distortion.
